Review - Chain Reaction

I think the third book in Simone Elkeles Perfect Chemistry series was my favourite of the three. Chain Reaction featured the youngest Fuentes brother, Luis, and his blossoming relationship with the jaded and embittered Nikki Cruz. Their pairing was the best of the three. Their romantic difficulties made the most sense.

Review - Rules of Attraction

The second book in Simone Elkeles Perfect Chemistry series focuses on the second Fuentes brother. I kept going in the series because I was curious to see what Elkeles would do with this brother that would set him apart from his older brother, Alex, whom the first book focuses on. This one is a tad disappointing though. It differs very little from book one except for the setting and the girl. Otherwise, it's very similiar... too similiar in feel for my tastes.

Review - Perfect Chemistry

I have been in the wilds of Pennsylvania for the better part of a week. I took Simone Elkeles's Perfect Chemistry series with me for the ride. Originally this book was part of the Blood Magic Challenge I am taking part in this year. I don't think I would have read it otherwise. That said, the read was great for a drive in the woods.

Review - Enshadowed

Two years ago I read a book that really made me happy - Nevermore by Kelly Creagh. I enjoyed the world that Creagh constructed, the conflict and the characters. I waited... Book 2, entitled Enshadowed, was announced. I waited... Time went by and more people found this book. We waited...

Last week an ARC of the sequel was sent to my home by the fine folks at Simon and Schuster. I squealed aloud. And I might have danced a little. The wait was over.

Birthday Giveaway

Hello folks. I missed doing a blog giveaway for my anniversary back in April. So, I am doing one for my upcoming birthday instead. How's that for a laugh... it's my birthday and I am giving you gifts.

It's more of just a great excuse to give away books. ;)

So, without further adieu... the books.

Review - Shadow Heir

Well, that's the final book in Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series... done. I've waited a long time after buying it to read this book. I didn't want it to be done. However, this week my mood called to return to the Otherworld. So, given that this book was necessary for my happiness. Clearly.

Review - Back and Deader Than Ever

I picked up the fourth Monster High book, Back an Deader than Ever, because I needed a familiar, silly, quick read. Lisi Harrison books always hit the spot for that reason alone. However, this one was my least favourite in the series thus far. I don't know why but I just got bored. Maybe I'm over it, finally.

Lilypunkk - A Golden Lily Giveaway

THIS CONTEST HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 31, 2012. YOU MAY ENTER UNTIL THEN.

I am going to be about very sporadically in the next few weeks. I am currently in the midst of edits and rewrites on my fairy tale draft. Expect guest posts for a little while from outside folk.

However, I thought in the interim I would toss up a giveaway for a book that I know many of you want - The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. I have one Advanced Reader's Copy to give away at this point. Mead is visiting the store I work at on June 12th at 7 PM in Lansing MI and we are very excited to be hosting her. For those who would like to come to the event, here's the address:

Review - The Blood Keeper

Many of you will remember that Blood Magic was my favourite book last year. I loved it utterly, and I've been wanting this one for a while. Initially I was disappointed to see that this book followed new characters and not the ones I had come to know and love. However, I dove in wanting to be back in the world and back in Tessa Gratton's head. I have found myself dreaming about this world for the better part of a year.

Review - Happily Ever After

I've been in the midst of rereading and redrafting my manuscript I wrote in December, so my reading has fallen to the wayside this month. However, I have had time to finish this anthology, Happily Ever After, which was edited by John Klima. It's a collection of short stories each with a fairy tale theme. Some of the biggest names of the Science Fiction and Fantasy world can be found in this book.
